Budapest, 7 June 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Budapest proudly joined the Bayanihan Filipino Association in Hungary (Bayanihan)’s commemoration of Philippine Independence through a special Thanksgiving Mass held last Saturday, 7 June 2025.

Rev. Father Elmer Hernandez, SVD, celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass at the Inner-City Mother Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Budapest.  Joining the members of the Bayanihan and officials of the Philippine Embassy were members of the Filipino community comprising of overseas workers, students, and members of other Filipino organizations such as the Mabuhay Filipino Community and the Association of Filipino Students in Hungary. Singing was led by the Bayanihan Choir Group.

The Thanksgiving Mass is the first of a series of activities that the Embassy organizes or supports in collaboration with the Filipino community in Hungary, in celebration of the 127th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.
