WHAT ARE THE VISA REQUIREMENTS?

DO I NEED VISA TO GO THE PHILIPPINES?

The Embassy has jurisdiction over the countries of Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia.The Philippines grants visa-free entry to passport holders of certain countries while requiring a visa to other countries. Check if your passport will require a visa for entry to the Philippines by searching the table below for the country that issued your passport:

Hungary

No visa required for a stay not exceeding thirty (30) days. Traveller must hold valid ticket for return journey to country of origin or next country of destination and a passport valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond the stay in the Philippines.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Visa required.

Montenegro

Visa required.

Serbia

Visa required. Traveller may apply for a visa only at the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Serbia.

NOTE:

In all types of visa application, the visa officer can request additional documents to determine whether or not the applicant can be issued a visa.

Purchase your flight ticket (“ticketed reservation”) only when you get your visa approved.

Whether or not you can enter the Philippines visa-free, note the following restrictions:

  • Beginning 01 January 2017, Philippine immigration authorities will not allow entryinto Philippine airports and seaports of foreign nationals holding non-machine readable passports.
  • Children aged below 15 years travelling to the Philippines unaccompanied by a parent must comply with a Philippine requirement called a Waiver of Exclusion Ground (WEG).
  • For passport holders who are allowed visa-free entry for a stay of up to 30 days: a visa is required for a stay exceeding 30 days.
  • Persons who were previously deported from the Philippines or included in the “blacklist order” of the Department of Foreign Affairs or Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines will not be allowed entry to the Philippines.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING RELATIVES AND FRIENDS FROM THE PHILIPPINES?

In order to get a Schengen visa, please complete

  • Apostilled Letter of Invitation or Acknowledged by the Embassy;
  • Notarized Affidavit of Support and Consent
  • Copy of Passports of both parties (person inviting and the one being invited).

BALIKBAYAN PRIVILEGE:

What is the “Balikbayan Program” of the Philippines? The Balikbayan Program of the Philippines was enacted in November 1989 to attract and encourage overseas Filipinos to visit the Philippines The following categories of persons can avail of the Balikbayan privilege: (a) a Filipino citizen who has been continuously out of the Philippines for a period of at least one (1) year.

Returning Filipino citizen or former Filipino citizen and family members (spouse and children holding Bulgarian, Hungarian, and Romanian passports) are entitled to a visa-free entry to the Philippines for a maximum stay on one (1) year from the date of their arrival in Manila under the BALIKBAYAN Program.  They shall be admitted as Balikbayans on condition that they (i) travel with a Balikbayan, and (ii) observe and comply with immigration rules and regulations.

Family members of Balikbayans who are nationals of countries as well as former Filipino citizens who acquired the Citizenship and Passports of countries not included in the abovementioned countries, are NOT entitled to the Balikbayan privilege.  They must secure entry visas prior to their travel to the Philippines.
